I have recently joined a comic book podcast called The Harbinger. Part of joining this podcast was actually buying comics every week and I have been doing that. I love it. My partnership with The Harbinger happened to coincide with DC’s relaunch of 52 of their titles, so that has been my jumping off point.This is my first month of consistently buying comics and it has been a total blast. Here’s a run down of what I’ve bought this month.

As far as the new 52 go, I bought Justice League, Detective Comics, Action Comics, Green Lantern, Red Lanterns, Batman, Suicide Squad, Aquaman, Superman, Batman: The Dark Knight and have enjoyed all of them. Some more than others, obviously (looking at you, Aquaman. Holy shit you were great. The Batmans and Lanterns were also great.) I also bought The Flash, Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E, Teen Titans and Grifter but haven’t read them yet.

I’ve since branched off from DC, dipping my toes into Marvel. I picked up Ultimate Spiderman #s 1 & 2 which I really enjoyed. I also got The Punisher #s 1 -3, which I guess just started up. Haven’t had a chance to read those yet. Kick-Ass 2 is also fucking great. I also got Brilliant by Brian Michael Bendis. It’s new and about geniuses who “invent” superpowers. Liked the first issue a lot, can’t wait to see where it goes.

I’ll be thinning this list as time goes on I am sure. I’m going to be giving the ones I have picked a few shots before I write any off. I’ll also definitely be picking up more as some are dropped. Basically, I am super stoked about this and I’m eternally grateful for The Harbinger bringing me on board. The Silver Smurfer thanks you guys.
